We missed this incident from a few weeks back. It's a shame when Amtrak or other rail services get caught up in violent incidents which seem all-too-common in our world in general these days.

The new Tampa-Miami bus will stop directly across from Tampa Union Station.

This week has been full of disappointing rail news, from cuts at Amtrak to talk of paring back Ft. Lauderdale's streetcar plans.

But Senator Rubio's challenge to BrightLine's proposed bond financing ranks pretty high on the disappointment scale. As far as we know, few elected officials have done anything to improve the transportation system in Florida of late.

So why antagonize the private sector company which is doing something about improving it?
