I used to ride this train twice a year, but what I am hearing and reading about the current state of sleeping cars (terrible) and the late running trains, I doubt I would use it if were returned. I believe the gentleman is right, that this issue is "dead in the water". I would say "dead on arrival". The expected cuts, plus the recent loss of many experienced managers at Amtrak spell implosion to me. The Sunset was a great ride, and so was the PanAmerican, SouthWind, DixieFlagler and DixieFlyer, but all have gone on to the Valhalla of passenger trains, never to return.
