I beg to differ with the politicos quoted in the article over nobody going to Crestview. The last time I rode, I noticed a family of four who rode in the sleeper from Jacksonville to Crestview so that there kids would get a good night's sleep. I noticed we had close to a full house that night through Florida.

I agree we don't need the Sunset back. We need a DAILY coach train with food service using Amfleet or Horizion equipment between New Orleans and Jacksonville which would fulfill Amtrak's obligation to operate the route. Try as best to make connections at both ends to the rest of Amtrak's system .
Steve & Jerry let me know about the Tallahassee meeting and a couple of FCRP members might attend. I think that the Sunset is a "white elephant" with negative baggage just as HSR. Tri-weekly trains hamper the cause of a route meeting its maximum potential. Am sure if it a viable product was explained to the panhandle neysayers , most would get on board.
