Good Afternoon:
As you know, Amtrak is celebrating 40 years as America’s Railroad with an exhibit train which is currently touring the system. The specially designed train will travel through major employee hubs across the country and will include two locomotives with historic paint schemes and use renovated baggage cars to display educational exhibits focusing on each decade of the railroad’s existence with vintage advertising, past menus and dinnerware, period uniforms, photographs and other memorabilia. Permission was just received for the train to stop at Tampa Union Station on February 18-19. The train will be open to the public each day between 10-4. Admission is free.
This is great news and should help promote National Train Day and our Centennial celebration for Tampa Union Station on Saturday, May 12.
See you there!
