Washington Post Article Critical of Dining Car Changes

No more food cooked aboard the Silver Meteor from October 1 forward. From then, it’s all pre made, much like Amtrak’s “tray meals” of the 1980s. This time around, though, it’s called “contemporary dining”.

On the plus side, the Silver Star gets a dining car with “contemporary dining” in January.

Will this cost Amtrak more in lost revenue than food service costs are saved? Time will tell.
