Motives Unclear As Senator Rubio Challenges BrightLine Bonds

28 Apr 2018 7:45 AM | Jackson McQuigg (Administrator)

This week has been full of disappointing rail news, from cuts at Amtrak to talk of paring back Ft. Lauderdale's streetcar plans.

But Senator Rubio's challenge to BrightLine's proposed bond financing ranks pretty high on the disappointment scale. As far as we know, few elected officials have done anything to improve the transportation system in Florida of late.

So why antagonize the private sector company which is doing something about improving it?
