Speak Up August 5: All Aboard Florida Bond Hearing in Downtown Orlando!

27 Jul 2015 9:56 PM | Jackson McQuigg (Administrator)

The previously postponed Florida Development Finance Corp Board (FDFC) meeting on All Aboard Florida has now been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 1:00 PM at the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Orlando, 60 S. Ivanhoe Boulevard, Orlando 32804.

Members of the Florida Coalition of Rail Passengers and others in and around Central Florida are encouraged to attend. We are asking anyone who is interested to make a brief statement in support of AAF.  Each speaker is given a maximum three minutes, but it can be shorter.

The FDFC is the state conduit issuing agency for All Aboard Florida’s Private Activity Bond financing.   At this meeting the Board will take public comment on the AAF Bond application and they will vote to approve or deny.

These tax-exempt bonds were authorized by Congress in 2005’s SAFETEA-LU surface transportation bill and do not affect state and local government debt or volume caps.

The public speaking portion of the program will begin at approximately 2:30 PM after formal presentations by All Aboard Florida followed by a presentation from the opposition group from Martin and Indian River Counties—making pro-rail statements from FCRP members and friends in support of All Aboard Florida extremely helpful.

We hope you will make plans to attend!

Stephen Sayles, President, FCRP

Tim Mack, Vice President, FCRP
