New Railroad History Supplement, Web Portal Launched

18 May 2014 9:57 AM | Jackson McQuigg (Administrator)
This month (just prior to National Train Day), the Tampa Bay Times published a curriculum supplement for use in 4th and 5th grade classrooms in Hillsborough County Schools entitled ALL ABOARD: Tampa Bay's Railroad History.

The supplement--which was also distributed to all 150,000 Tampa-area subscribers of the Times--was the culmination of a major effort involving the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper In Education ProgramFriends of Tampa Union Station, and Hillsborough County. In addition to the supplement, a web portal was launched which delves into the rich history of Tampa-area and Florida railroading, speaks to its present, and even provides a glimpse of what the future of railroading might look like.

Have a look--and enjoy!
