When michigan restores its upcoming commuter rail service between Ann Arbor and Detroit, Tampa Bay will then hold thecrown for being the largest metro in the USA with no local rail service (commuter/light rail/rapid transit, etc.). I don't see why not Orlando-Tampa could become a commuter route. It's just as long as Los Angeles-Oceanside on the Metrolink system in California or Chicago-South Bend on the former South Shore line, or just a dozen or so miles longer than the Tri-rail line between West Palm Beach and Miami.
