Continuing need exists for use of the Sunset Limited as an evacuation mode for locations served.  This same service was previously provided by Amtrak to evauating citizens from New Orleans to Memphis.  Repair of tracks, signals should have been followed by return of service.

It would be nice if you guys that live in John Mica's district would help out a bit by:

1.  Elect the anti-rail character out of office, throw to the wolves if necessary.

2.  Short of that, deluge, I mean get everybody you know, to swamp his mail, e-mail, etc. with positive requests regarding the  Sunset Ltd.  Even then he has told me right to my face that "it cost too much and would never return".  This was when the DMUs going to TriRail were exhibited in Jacksonville.

I fear that given the neoconn group that has currently been elected, most of whom are so young they have little clue what a passenger train is, that we have something less than a zero chance of seeing the  Sunset return, at least in the next few decades.  I am more concerned about what we stand to lose.
